Trunk latch

I guess this after market trunk latch installed in my LHD 71 super is for a RHD? Who knew? I’ve searched but couldn’t find . WW doesn’t specify a difference

That explains why po had the cable running down the left side (which has never worked since owning this car) so I thought I can flip it around but no can do. Oh well I guess I’ll replace or try to run along the left but I think there’s too much going on the left. Also this is what I have as far as a cable.

Doesn’t seem like the cable separates from the glove box mechanism.

The cable assembly is attached to the glove box latch assembly with a small roll pin.

Looks like my latch is for a 68 only and of course PO installed it. Does the cable run on left side of a 68? Seems like the only way it would work.
