Looking for the ruff size of this awning. I am going to build one similar and want the size to look correct.

Thanks!

"Lange"-> length 2700
"Breite"-> width 1600
"Hohe"-> Height 2200

you do know that CIP sells them right?

Thanks.

Yes but I am making some improvements.

I want it to work with a 2/3 rack. Zipper on sides and front. Longer lip over roof with magnets to Hold the flap down. Aluminum frame to save weight and broken down into more parts so I can keep the max rod length a little shorter for storage.

Its not a real conversion so I am improving where I can while keeping the vintage look.

good idea on aluminum poles as long as they are of similar strength as OG. German tent poles always were made of more steel than most cars these days and the weight of them bears that out.

Will be interested to see what you come up with

Still hoping to get confirmation of dimensions.

This is what I have approximated with the help of velvetgreen's info.

Still haven't found good measurement of an awning. Was thinking to make it exact so I could use a repo cover if I wanted.

Also looking for something to collapse thin aluminum tubbing to make slip joints but haven't found anything. Can use two sizes of tubing for the joints if I don't find a cheep way to do it.

FWIW, the tent poles fit perfectly on the floor at the base of the bed. It is like they were designed to fit there.

Just curious if you ever found the true dimensions for the awning.. I also would like to make my own. My bus is Blue and White so i'd like to make one with matching colors.. CIP makes re-pop's but only in Yellow/Gray.. otherwise, I have not found anyone else who makes the early Westy awnings.. If you did find the dimensions, please share,,, Thanks. Very Happy
