This summer I picked up a lowered 1960 Double Door (1959 build date) panel in the ozarks. It was originally a Boston import bus which makes me feel kind of dirty as a St. Louis Cardinals fan. The bus had disc brakes on all fours and a straight axle kit.... I decided to keep that for my other bus and return the commercial bus to stock.

The bus has rust but really isnt horrible.

Here is what I started with:

I put the narrowed beam and straight axle from the panel on my 67. Then I put an early bay beam on the panel and a big nut trans. The brakes were running adapters to run blacked out 4-lug sprintstars... I am not sure why.

Next up. Opening the left hand cargo doors. The previous owner said he had the bus for 10 years but never opened the doors.

Looking real nice man!
I love the shot where you're halfway thru the suspension swap...the deluxe looks like a hot rod and the panel is a gasser.

Thanks for the love Missourianites and lost Missourianites lol
I feel like a huge slacker. A three day weekend and I did nothing on the panel. I spent the whole time catching up on movies and television. I have no regrets though. I was due for a little R&R Laughing

Approve. I have the same welder, I notice you're burning flux core too. How do you like that thing?

I love the welder. I have the gas hookup for the welder but don't always have gas. Flux is fine if you take your time. The technique for welding with flux is totally different though

I am just taking up space at a friend's garage but I bet we can talk him into hosting something. Plenty of parking for buses as well. If all goes well I am hoping to build my own shop this summer... I cannot wait
