Can I use the shorter carat front shock bump stops on a standard suspension?

Shorter? Are you sure they're different? There would be no reason you can't.

I have never done this, but it has been well covered here many times. You can simply cut rings away from the existing bump stops. Look at the sticky's or search a little and you will see.

I've cut lots of them... I just didn't know VW sold a shorter one. I should pay closer attention I guess.
Jeff.

Jeff.

Carats have less and Syncros have more rings than the GL bumpstops.

Who knew!
By the way, I'm driving through New York next month if you need anything I could meet you somewhere...

This was brought up before.
I'm thinking that all US bump stops had the same number of rings.
European models had shorter stops.
I picked up some carat springs along with the stops, spacers and discs from the same vehicle. the bump stops were the same size as the OE 85's.
I'll check back in the search
