This morning on the way in to work I saw a beautiful dark blue fully restored VW Thing. I thought, man that's cool.
However, yesterday morning, I had the once in a lifetime luck of getting behind a Tesla Roadster on the interstate! In NW Arkansas !!

The Tesla. Period.
But mainly because I have seen Things before, usually beat up but I have seen them. Seeing a Tesla in my neck of the woods is a rare event indeed.
The Thing made me go "Wow that's cool," the Tesla made me go "Holy f@$@(*$" _________________ I'm the humblest guy on this board.

Depends if you judge coolness by how the car makes you feel, or how the girl in the car makes you feel. |

I'll go for the Thing. A Tesla dove past me in the grocery parking lot yesterday. I think I saw another one last week. Mazeratis, Lambos, that low slung really fast Audi..... they are all over my area. |

Thing. I do vallet and drive those high end things all the time, but there's no feel of adventure when you're driving them. Old cars though, that's where the fun is aka the cool factor _________________ Wash your hands

At this point in my life, it feels better to see an old car than a new one. I drive by the SF bay area and see as many as 50 Teslas in one day. _________________ I'd be UNSTOPPABLE if not for Law Enforcement and PHYSICS.
I recycle old cars and parts, other than when I rot, that's as Green as I am going to get.
Thanks to my Tesla driving neighbors, I feel more relaxed driving my SUBURBAN and old VW's.
Everything sounds good on paper! |

Ha ! Forgot about that...then yeah, that takes the cool factor down a notch.
There's some band now that plays instruments through a Tesla coil....sounds like crap, but looks pretty cool.

.....So that's how the OG Tesla band got their rocker perms....it's all making sense now. |

Hells yeah, best times of my life. Tesla actually was just a band to me back then, I had no idea where The Great Radio Controversy album derived its title from until years later, I just loved the music. Edison's Medicine is one of the best song titles ever. I'd be willing to bet you'll never see a car called the Edison. Too bad his goons burned Tesla's lab to the ground outside Colorado Springs _________________ I'm the humblest guy on this board.

Tesla is a local band, Sacramento, that made the big time. I saw them at a dive bar in Kauai, before they changed their name to Tesla, they were called City Kidd, back then. At one point the singer asked where people were from, I shouted out Sacramento, he laughed and said, "You came all the way to Kauai, to see a local band" He bought a round of beers for us! _________________ BWD

To be honest, I've not heard a single track ( that I remember ) I was into the heavy stuff in the late 80s, early 90s...you know, Metallica, GWAR, Sabbath, Megadeath, White Zombie, etc. Mom really liked the "hair bands", so the only way to "rebel" was to go harder.
Edison's goons are tools..... is that where AC/DC got their name ?
"Tool" ! another great band btw.

Very cool ! Nothing like a down to earth band.
Playing metal these days can be humbling & relating to the fans on a personal level is how you ensure longevity.
The mainstream garbage they call "music" now gives the "artists" an inflated sense of stardom & they burn out so quick, it's funny.

I live in the bay area so Tesla's aren't uncommon here (I used to live down the street from where one parked regularly for example).
I'd go with the Thing - I never see those. |

Yeah yeah yeah....good point
But...as a Metalhead.....if you can't appreciate the comedy styling of GWAR, or enjoy the awkward explanation of the stained skin to your boss / teacher that comes from a SCUMDOG shower, then yer' just a softie.

This guy must have season seats to the Raiders.
BTW I work down the street from the ex-Fisker headquarters. It was a trip seeing 3 or 4 of them lined up at the same traffic light every now and then. Teslas out here are becoming the rich man's Prius and they're everywhere. Things, not so much. |
