In trying to diagnose a power window issue I have noticed my PS window leaking due to a gap at the lower sweep seal. I replaced the seals on both doors at the same time a couple years ago, but for reasons I can’t quite figure out the PS is much looser. It almost seems like the door skin is spread. Any suggestions? Just just order a new seal and hope for better results? _________________ 91 Westy

It wouldn't be the inner scraper at fault, would it? With the glass too close to the inside? |

Yikes that is a lot of water. How new are those seals? All I can say is the seal on the DS is much tighter and actually touching the glass - looks like it could minimize water infiltration. The PS has an obvious gap that is only closed when I push on the door skin or the seal itself. _________________ 91 Westy

Replace the PS ones. And by the way, they are not called seals. Seals do exactly that and are rubber around the perimeter of the door. What you're having problems with are called scrapers.
That video was done with a hose from the side. Rain isn't like that, but he was making a point and a very good one. This is why our window motors fail. |
