It's a left hand side Type 3 Karmann Ghia turn signal housing. It's the single contact later version of the part that does not support the parking light, so is typically used in conjunction with the parking light in the headlight, aka 'city lights'. It can be converted by replacing the end cap with a dual pole cap, and then trimming one of the nubs off the bulb.

Type 3 Karmann Ghia--also known as the Type 34--ALL years, but only for those countries that put the parking light up in the headlight.

The early years up to about '63 or '64 had a riveted Bakelite cap to which in turn the electrical connectors themselves were riveted, instead of the peened into place white cap, as yours has. The nice thing about the white caps is that they can be more easily converted. The connector closest to the edge should be labeled with an embossed '31' in the plastic, which means electrical ground, so don't connect the parking or turn signal wiring to it. To confirm, run a continuity check across that terminal and anywhere on that turn signal housing you should get a dead short. You'll want to hook the turn signal wire to the other terminal labeled '57' or '58'.

Looks like a very nice NOS or 'lightly used' part that includes the often missing lens seal.
