Searched the forums and couldn't find anyone with this specific problem.. I blew the H Pipe in the coolant system last week.. Fixed it with a pipe clamp (while the metal one is on order), burped the lines and it's all held together. However since then, I've been losing power intermittently.. most noticeable on uphills, it's been really bad at times. However if I restart the engine it's immediately back to full power.
When the H Pipe blew, it covered the engine compartment in coolant... but that was 2 weeks ago.. Feels like I'm loosing a cylinder.
Any ideas on where to start troubleshooting this?
Thanks Gang. _________________ '85 Westy Weekender |

That behavior makes me suspect something that the ECU ignores during the first few minutes after start-up. One thing that comes to mind is the O2 sensor. You might check that all connections are clean and dry, then check the sensor itself. |

Man, you nailed it! PO had wrapped the spade connector in electrical tape, and when I removed the tape, it was unplugged. Plugged it back in and she's running like a champ. THANKS!! Nothing better than a simple fix! _________________ '85 Westy Weekender |
