Hey everyone hope all is ok been working on the van 1985. My sink is not working. I added water since it was drained all winter into the travel tank and nothing. Battery is green and enough water over pump. My faucet has no knob to turn from city to travel. What am I missing do I need to fill both tanks or prime it or plug something in? All ends look connected could pump be done? Thanks for reading

See those yellow wires resting on the cabinet shelf in your fourth photo? There's a clue. Try to get your head up in there and find where they plug into the faucet base. Just a hail Mary suggestion from right field, but who knows.

Before doing that, insert a U-shaped paper clip into the connector to 'jump' the two yellow wires and complete the circuit. You should hear the water pump activate, and see water enter the supply lines and faucet (make sure the faucet is physically opened, or the valve may prevent water movement).
If that checks out, plug it into the faucet as suggested and you should be good.
If not, you'll need to start tracing wires / current to determine where the fault is.
EDIT: I'm also curious about your reference to "two tanks." Stock only has one supply tank; do you have two? Might be a PO mod that further complicates troubleshooting. _________________ Camp Westfalia

So I jumped the yellow connecter and nothing. I thought the van had a big fill travel tank and a smaller one for city plug. Does the city garden hose attachment not the lock box tank not have any tank just a constant flow?
Where is the plug near the sink is there supposed to be something their?
Thank you. _________________ Be here now, not in the past and not in the future, but be here now. |

City water hose just runs straight to the faucet when connected to an outside source. There’s only one tank and it’s the one in your photos. _________________ '91 Westfalia GL Automatic (GTA "Turbo" Rebuild w/Peloquin) and 2.3L GoWesty Engine |

Is the problem that the pump is not turning on or that there’s no water coming out? I ask because you mentioned priming the system.
If the pump is running but there’s no water coming out... yes, try priming it. Turn on the faucet, put your mouth on the end of it and suck the water out. ..seriously hah.
I used to have to do this every time I filled my tank from empty. Now I have a self priming pump. |

if your pump makes no noise then either it's not getting power or it's kaput. It can easily be killed by accidentally turning it on with an empty tank, not realizing that and spinning the pump until it expires.
Before getting into all the wires, try sending 12 volts directly to the pump (un plugging it at the harness and jumping power there. if it doesn spin then it sounds like you need a $30 pump.

This is a compounded problem you have. 1) The pump could very well be dead. If you've confirmed this, feel free to order a new one. More importantly, 2) your non-factory faucet does not appear to have an electrical connection, hence the two disconnected yellow wires. Thus, even if you get a new pump, you'll be back to square one. So, if you wish to use the tank for sink water supply, order up a new faucet as well.

Upgraded Shurflo faucet: https://www.vancafe.com/SearchResults.asp?Search=Faucet&Submit= (choose the option that works best for you: whole kit to keep city water, or just faucet and adapter plate if eliminating city water) _________________ 1986 Cabriolet: www.Cabby-Info.com

BonzoVan - tell me more about this self-priming pump! I'm tired of my kid laughing at me when I 'suck the faucet' to make coffee in the morning. _________________ 1982 Diesel Westfalia 1.6 NA - The Shellakabuukiee |

This is a manual sink faucet
So hand-action pumps the water out the faucet
Lift that white-lever up and down and it should let out water on the lift-up
No electric cabling, etc is needed |

This is an old post, but you're wrong.
The first photo shows the blue 12v electric pump with a white 2-conductor wire set at the end of a feeder hose to the faucet.
Unless, someone converted it, and left all the old 12v stuff in there. Then you might be right.

69vanagonman is right, that appears to be a mechanical faucet. Any wiring you see is left over from before the person converted it. Our factory replacement faucet - https://www.busdepot.com/255070808 - is a direct swap and will restore the electric functionality (assuming your pump is good of course; if not, we sell it as well). The ShurFlo faucet will also work (it's linked at the bottom of that page), but unlike the factory replacement it lacks a check valve so it is possible that you would also have to replace your city water inlet. _________________ - Ron Salmon
