I've been perusing samba for a while researching everyone's different methods for removing door pins, seems that this up there as one of the most hated projects when it comes to bug repair work. I almost pulled the trigger on renting the door pin tool, but first I tried making the c-clamp tool. Only problem with that was when I really torqued down on it, I could see the clamp flex and bow, so I backed off of it. I tried using an airhammer, but it barely made the pin budge, plus I was worried I was going to piss off all my neighbors (I live in suburbia hell).

Then I did some google searching and came across this video of someone using a bench vise to pop the pin out:

This actually worked really well. It required a little bit of setup and a lot of man handling the doors, but once I got everything level and into position, I slowly cranked down on the vise and the pins popped right out. I had also been soaking the hinges with Aero Kroil on and off again for a few weeks, then heated up the hinges with torch (thought the expansion and contraction would help break things loose). The guy in the video used this method on what looks to be nice, clean, freshly painted doors. All I can say is that I am glad my doors are in the pre-paint stage, because I sure I would have scratched something.
