Mud flaps skirting ideas anyone?

I'm working on the rear brakes of my 78 Westy, noticed not much protection from splash of the rear wheels on to the heat exchangers and other engine stuff. Has anyone addressed this with skirting or something?

I sliced rubber hose and put on my splash guards where they meet bumper. I guess some of that crappy cloth covered fuel hose would work. Maybe I don't even know what you are working with.

Good coat of paint is most helpful. Difficult to protect that part of the engine. The air flow also helps to draw out the heat, too bad , water is part of that.
