I have 66 bus that I picked up, and want to restore. I'm trying to put a large nut reduction box tranny in it so I can roll it off the trailer. I believe through searching a lot of pics on here, that I have a T1 nose cone on this tranny, because the shaft on the cone hits the body and wont allow it to bolt up in the front. My question is: were the nose cones different from a T1? I'm thinking someone had this tranny in a bug, and switched the nose cone out. Any help would be great Thanks. |

yes the nose cone off a beetle is different than that of a bus. the shift rod is located approx 1-.75 inches higher on a beetle nose cone which would cause the interference you speak of. _________________ drive your split. |

If you are trying to just get the bus off the trailer, then no you do not need the type 2 hockey stick. Get the transaxle shifted into neutral before installing the nose cone. _________________ In Stereo, Where Available! |

the trans will not bolt into the bus with a type one nose cone on it. And yes you will need a type 2 hockey stick along with the nose cone. _________________ drive your split. |
