Anyone know where to buy sheet metal parts for a latebay single cab.
Preferably U.K. Or German sites, as I live in Denmark.
The bed and sides are almost gone, thinking of making a custom wood bed instead. Don't know if that's a good idea.? _________________ Jakob |

The bed deck skin is a structural part of the truck, plywood isn't going to do the job. It's your truck and your choice as to how you repair it, taking the cheap or easy way out will dramatically effect the value, everyone always says "I'll never sell it so it doesn't matter", sadly shit sometimes happens in life and you have to turn it into cash fast, a hacked one will be very hard to sell.
Trucks are rare enough to warrant putting in the time and money to fix properly, don't shoot yourself in the foot by saving a few bucks.
Here's a few places to shop:

Auto Craft Engineering in the UK do a range of single cab parts. They have the load bed, top hats, sills etc

^^^^^ The above 3 companies are your best bet. I have used all 3 to source bits for my SC. |

Agreed.
KlassicFab is the only company I know of that will make up a set of gates for you. All by hand, I believe. I got a set for my double cab. They needed a bit of bodywork to get them really straight, and the canopy attachment tab nubs are in the wrong place. But overall they are a vast improvement.
If you do go for the KlassicFab gates, take some careful measurements of the canopy attachment tabs and make sure that they get them in the right place.
What other single cab parts are you looking for? I've been sourcing parts for mine for about 5 years now, and have found a good number of sources. _________________ John

Thank you guys for the answers. Since last I found a better pickup, and now the first one I bought is gonna be a donor car. Never the less, I need the new rear sides panels going from the cabin along the bed to the end, and some new bits under the door where you sit.
I will try to make a list of the parts I need. _________________ Jakob |

Anyone knows if the treasure chest lid is the same size early vs late bay? I can’t find it anywhere to a latebay, only early bay with the louvres?
What about the sides? Are they alike early vs latebay, arches and all? _________________ Jakob |

Thank you very much.
I’ll manage the different hinges, and I don’t mind the louvres. _________________ Jakob |

I think the louvers are actually a good idea to help keep the storage compartment ventilated and dry. _________________ John

I just managed to open the chest today, and I’m so disappointed now... it’s only the lid skin.. no chest inner frame. What a pain.
What to do? Can I build the frame myself? Any ideas.? _________________ Jakob |

Are you talking about the framework for the storage compartment door?
All you have is the outer skin?
What are the hinges attached to?
You may have to get clever. I don't know of anyone reproducing storage compartment doors, but it would be a great thing for Klassic Fab to take on.
Just curious:
Do you have one door or two?
Do you have the lock(s)?
Care to post a photo? _________________ John

This is What i have.
2 pickups. One with the chest skin and one with the hinges..
A weird RUKO lock and no frame behind the skin. I can’t believe No one is making these, but so it seems.

Could anyone please take some photos of the chest frame. Maybe some measurements? _________________ Jakob |
