Decided to start washing the fabric on the cushions of my 74 westy.
I was doing well, but then I encountered one zipper (of course) and she wouldn't budge.
I knew I had to be patient and slowly work it. 30 minutes later after applying various 'greasy' stuff and pulling this way and that, the zipper body/puller just popped right off.
From the looks of it, its still good, the openings on each side just opened up enough to pop off. My question finally is;
Is it possible to put this back on and everything works again? do I have to start it at the very end of the zipper itself (the part that's tucked down into the fabric or can I just start it where the zipper hits the fabric ?
Or, is it shot and I have to take it to someone who does this stuff for a living?
Thanks for your help.

Assuming it does not break when you squeeze the metal back onto the teeth, you'll just attatch it back to where the teeth have come apart. Then slide it back to the joined teeth and you should be able to pull it forward to zip up. You can always get a new zipper on it locally. _________________ 84 Wolfsburg Edition Westy |
