BBB VIII was always going to happen, just a little low key throughout the year. The turn out was around 3 buses less then last year (approx 203 registered) but I think we had more. The quality of the buses and people were way up. I had problems with a couple groups last year and it seems they decided to stay away being that BBB is NOT a all night PARTY PALACE. This seemed to be one of the best of all with an awesome crowd. We have 900 dollars for the burnt bus fund and looks like we will give between 6 to 8 GRAND to the kids this year, which wouldn't have happened without all the donantions from vendors, clubs and people .
The LBB would like to thank all the FORUM members that made it and I am sure I saw or talked to you all.
Earlyman, thanks for driving the OZ bus down for me and the other forum members that helped me transport stuff.
As for the VTO kid, they stepped up to help with out a sinval, we asked them last minute to do the tacos as SV2's bailed on the brats this year to help feed you all, they also stepped up to the plate and ran the VW/Harley Howard FREE Friday taco feed. They might of irritaded a few but they HELPED beyond and above.
Thanks again to all of you and the children will be pleased again. _________________ Stocking distributor of "The Funky Green Panels"

Ronnie,
I, for one, had a great time.
I agree that it is nice to have a campout atmosphere, suitable for the kids.
Next year, I'll bring my daughter along, some shows I never would consider doing that due to the drugs and noise.
Entirely worth the trip out West. _________________ Founder and Chairman Emeritus, ECMSAS

i seem to be invisble at shows because my bus never gets pics taken of it, and i don't seem to appear in anyone's pics, so i'm not surprised you didn't find me. i didn't see you either. |
Hey, who says nobody took any pix of your bus. I did, for one.
Looks like a Mafia hit going down on your pile.

And all of a sudden all those pictures of Michael Jackson and Bob Ross don't do him justice.

cool. it just seems like i'll check out a ton of pics on many sites, and there will be pics of every other bus except mine. sure, a corner may show up or it'll be way in the background, but not usually a decent shot. that's ok though.
another example is a recent club newsletter where i am basically invisible in one of the many pics of the event (a small gathering of about 16 people)--you can see me getting something out of a refrigerator, but my name was somehow deleted from the list of all the people there! taylor?
that's ok, it keeps the 'mystique' alive.
as far as the hit, yeah, i was tied to the seat (that's me with the green shirt on) and being tortured to give up names/dates/places, but i wasn't talking! lucky for me all they wanted was a few parts. it was a double hit, as you can see Ev ducking in from the side. _________________ thebucket: I invested in hoodride, now DBD won't return my call?

It was definitely a good show besides there being quite a few bays! j/k. I have a Hazetguy pic to post as soon as my film is developed; I’m sure he’ll love it! (Can you hear me now?)
Anyway, it was a good time and even though I found very little in the swaps I broke even selling so my gas money was paid for, so it all worked out in the end.
I too appreciated the quiet atmosphere at night at BBB a lot more than at Jerome. I hope to make it next year and see if I can’t change the opinion of me out there! Know what I mean Ronnie! J/K! _________________ Your Vanagon sucks, Stop waving at me.

I have a little trick. its called earplugs. with them, all of the shows have a nice quiet atmosphere. at redbarn last year, I woke up to very peaceful silence. then I pulled out the earplugs and heard the constant road noise of traffic coming down the hill. |

I think we just need to start posing for pictures from BDM hits. Let the world think that things are all crazy and that the BDM is OOC!

Was the BDM there? I saw Gibbs, and Everett had the only BD that I saw. _________________ Your Vanagon sucks, Stop waving at me.

Definately one of the best events I have attended. The best part was putting a face to an avatar. It was also the most kid-friendly event I have ever been to. Thanks to all of you who posted the great pics in the gallery. I'm already planning for next year. |

My favorite view of the show, out over Lake Havasu.
Binz Doublecab, Bricktop's OLD Westy, Everett's Barndoor Single Cab.
Was kinda windy, but what a view!
