Go to the NHTSA website- they have all of the rules and regs there- http://www.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/rules/import/ _________________ OG JHC

You might want to consider Canada for a Vanagon double-cab. Many people get them from there.
We've got a club member in LiMBO in Nanaimo (sp?) B.C. that has several double-cabs. I don't think he sells them much, just collects them.
I guess Canada was able to get them new but not the US. Both of these ones came from Canada:
The tan one was recently up on eBay with a 10k reserve. It was in real nice shape and owned by a local VW shop owner. The auction winners never seemed to follow through with final purchase though (typical eGay). He ended up trading it for a 2003 New Beetle Turbo with a VW enthusiast from New Hampshire. They were both very happy with the trade from what I heard from the shop owner.
The green one is a diesel with 6-passenger seating. Very commercial looking and a little rough around the edges.
The picture is from Transporterfest 2003, a show I run here in the Boston area.

His name is Chuck "Double-Cab" Dudek. He's got a few and is pretty into them. A great enthusiast! |

Send me a pm, I can give you some contact information for Chuck. I don't think he sells the double-cabs, mostly just collects them. He might be able to get a lead on one for you though. |
