Have a 73 Super that we will be starting on that needs a replacement pan. Finding lots of 74s. Question is if I will have an issue installing a 74 pan under a 73 body. I don't think so, but just checking....Thanks! _________________ D-Dubya Manx clone 1914. Ex wifes car.

It depends if the 73 body is before or after August. Early bodies (-08.73) share the suspension parts with 1302s, which means three bolt ball joints, cast control arms, narrower anti roll bar, and smaller diameter top strut flange (IIRC 2mm difference). But you can make it fit quite easily. _________________ '74 1303S, L98B Viperngrun (extra glitter), German Look

Its a secret.....LOL According to Jon, the pans are pretty much interchangable. When you get to the rack and pinion cars, the mounting for the rack is on the body. So, in my case, working with a 73, found a 75 donor. May or may not convert the car to rack and pinion. depends how difficult the body will be to modify and the condition of the rack. And I believe that I would have to swap the strut components, but will see when I get the cars here. _________________ D-Dubya Manx clone 1914. Ex wifes car.

Take care that in case you will swap to rack and pinion, also the frame head has a notch. I am doing this conversion right now. See this topic.

the later frames do not have the welded nut for the steering dampner ask me how I know this
as long as you address this before putting the body back on if your not doing r/p you should be good |

Saving this for when I get the project in. Picking up the donor next Saturday, but I believe that I have the customer car scheduled for June. This is all speculation as far as what I am doing until I can assess both cars and see what makes the most sense to do. I may pick your brain once we get going. Thanks again. _________________ D-Dubya Manx clone 1914. Ex wifes car.
