|
I'm looking to lift my 1966 square back by installing lifting spindals on the front and a bus transaxle with gear reduction. It is stock with the ball joint front end and swing axle rear end. Trying to find out if the ball joint bug lifting spindals will bolt on and if there are spring plates available to adapt the factory diameter rear torsion bars to the bus transaxle. |

No on both. You will need to fabricate whatever it is you are trying to do.
If you are just tring to lift a little bit, you can re-index the front torsion bars some, but bug and type 3 front ends are completely different, the parts do not interchange _________________ Stop dead photo links! Post your photos to The Samba Gallery! |

in the front just reindex the bars higher, if you don't go crazy you should not be binding balljoints
I've never seen reduction boxes used on a type 3, it could be fun |

well I can't seem to get in touch with Russ at old speed, try emails and leaving messages with his guys on the phone and can't get a response back either way, he must be a busy guy. I did get in touch with the guys from bugzyla the and they were super helpful. Got my gear reduction box figure it out with the adapter plates that they make for it and he was super helpful about how I go with the install.he also said bad he has a guy that could more than likely make the raised spindles, just need to send him my factory ones and they should be able to fabricate some up. |
