Trying to wrap my head around this and need to ask. I want to add a billet generator pulley to my 90mm 12v pulley. The issue is that the pulley on my 36hp engine is smaller than all the billet pulleys I find out there. My question is, if I am able to shim the pulley enough that the same size belt will fit (letting the belt ride deeper in the pulley) it should theoretically allow the the larger pulley to continue to turn the fan the same revolutions and not effect cooling right? Granted, I’m not sure I actually can accomplish this but before I try wanted to make sure there wasn’t a flaw in my thinking. [/s] _________________ 1960 Indigo Blue Ragtop (Blue Barry)

One thing about the 90mm generators, is that the pulley does not line up the same way as with a 105mm generator. So the pulley has to be offset differently so that it lines up with the crankshaft pulley. Its been years since I looked at what parts are out there, but are you seeing aluminum pullies with the correct offset?
These examples are steel, of course...

True. I may have to see if the pulley will even line up. Or work for that matter. I do remember having to buy a couple of pulleys before finding one that worked properly. But don’t the 90mm 12v take the dished back pulleys? _________________ 1960 Indigo Blue Ragtop (Blue Barry)
