Considering the new 67 only master cylinder that CIP1 sells.

Found here

https://www2.cip1.com/vwc-211-611-011-q/

Anyone using this and other than it using a non stock reservoir, anything need to make the swap?

Appears it is made for the 67 Only new so curious.

Thanks

TJ

I used this master when I was doing a front disk brake conversion (1960 bus). The only other thing I bought was the 1967 reservoir that CIP1 mentions you need when doing the swap.

I have roughly 600 miles on this master with no issues so far.

Thank you for the note.

Appreciate the link but I had already perused and searched before I posted my question.

I was asking specifically about the CIP1 branded 67 Master and for anyone that actually purchased and installed one, if they had any surprises basically other than the known need of a different reservoir.

But thanks again for the link. I read all sorts of Master Cylinder posts in the last couple of days.

Very Happy

I went ahead and ordered the CIP1 67-Only Master Cylinder and Reservoir, at the price, and I always worry some 1-year Only stuff gets hard to find sometimes, nice to have at least.

Unsure if I ill replace mine this year as I work on rear brakes but if I do, will report here my own findings.

I had the same issue too, I had to carefully trim some of the "flashing" from the bungs, it's just flaps of rubber left over from the molding process.

Are you saying the leak is under or on top of where the rubber rings (I guess these are the bungs you mean) push into the Master Cylinder and where the plastic bottle pushes into?

Just trying to better understand where the leak is at so I can look into this.

Thanks

Can you elaborate a little on the trimming you did?

I take it you somehow smoothed out the rubber bungs where the plastic bottle inserts to so it gets a better seal and fit?

I just reseated the rubber bungs Eric and Barb gave me a tip about making sure there’s no moulding edges on the rubber the front one wasn’t right so trimmed it and refit it
Seems to be ok at the moment haven’t driven it yet
