Hi all,
I've been searching the forums for some information on fixing my sliding windows. Each thread has some conflicting information.
How do I remove the sliding window (just the pane of glass that moves) so that I can replace the worn fuzzy felt strips.
Also, the rubber seal inside the aluminum frame is worn out on both sides. Does anyone know where to find replacements? I already have the large seal to connect the entire window to the frame.

Seals for the inside of the aluminum frame are no longer available.
To get the sliding window out. Remove the latch from the window using a 90-degree screwdriver with a flat blade to remove the retaining screw from below. Careful you don't lose that spring.
Remove the seal from the top/front edge inside the frame, center the glass in the frame, place spreader clamps on either side of the glass and expand the outer edge about 1/4 inch, push the top of the glass up and in, pull the bottom out using a butter knife or paint scraper to help it clear the frame if needed.
