|
|
Hi
I have a Chesil "Porsche" Speedster kit and need to adjust both doors as they rattle when closed and also slightly catch the body when closing.
I can't seem to find any details on the door latches and don't want to just dive in making things worse.
Do any of you recognise these and have any helpful advise on how to adjust them?
Thanks. |

Other than moving striker plate I don't know any way to adjust things.... Only solution I can think of for rattle is weather striping around door....

Remove either the catch or the latch first & then see how the door closes. Is the door itself aligned properly? If not you need to adjust the hinges first. Once the door is properly aligned you can then work on the latch.
Before removing anything make sure there is not a couple of nuts or plates on the backside that will drop off into "nowhere". _________________ Mic

Long story..... Sometimes their helpful, more times they're not.
I've been waiting for 2 weeks now to just get a price on some spares that I need!
Do you know how interchangeable Chesil parts are with Speedster Clinic?
Thanks. |

My CMC Speedster uses T1 Door Latch and striker But on the CMC the rubber door gasket is crucial in eliminating rattling doors. The CMC has a substantial steel perimeter frame that keeps VW pan/fiberglass body from flexing - does the Chesil have the same sub-frame? _________________ CMC '57 Porsche Speedster Replica and Dolphin boat tailed full pan VW MOD-T Street Buggy |
