Just wanted to introduce myself. I was heavily into VW's in the late 80's to early 90s. I had a 1776cc motor built by Small Car Specialties to the following specs:
Type 1 1776cc Balanced and Blueprinted
69mm Counterweighted Crank
90.5mm pistons and cylinders
Engle 110 cam
17lb Fly Wheel
1700lb Kennedy Pressure Plate and 2 plate racing disk
041 heads ported and polished
Dual 40mm Dellorto carbs with K&N air cleaners and ported intake runners
1 5/8 in. header to stinger or dual muffs
I still have the motor and am looking for a Porsche Speedster Kit Car or a Manx style dune buggy to put the motor in. I also had it mated to a IRS(69' BUG) tranny that had updated gears that I still have. I have to backtrack and call the place I got it from to confirm what gears are in it.
I also own a '02 Subaru Impreza WRX which runs a Stage 4 kit (upgraded turbo, injectors, fuel pump and intercooler). I am going to the dyno this week(Wednesday) and will hopefully put near 300whp down to the ground.
Just thought I would share with you all what I have sititng on my bench in the garage. _________________ Kurlee Daddee

Kombisutra;
I'm starting to get little wafts of bus stink coming from the north. Something about the unique scent of drivers seat padding when it's glued together with mouse piss and shit that really gets me going... and I'm smelling it! Oh yeah! Time to start loading up the equipment. |

Oh no. You definately have me wrong. This Subaru is the baddest most reliable and best handling car I have ever owned. And it sure does take well to mods as well. I went from 188whp to 250whp for only $2000. I should be near 300whp next week. That may be good for mid 12 second 1/4 mile runs.
The VW will just be a toying around type car. I just have a motor and trans combo to play with. I just need the body and pan to make it work. _________________ Kurlee Daddee

| Cool to see you back in the scene. It's too bad everyone is giving you a hard time about yourSuburu because it uses a flat 4 like a VW. |
