Guys, RUN AWAY! If you are considering doing business with Manny from Manny's Repair Shop in Chula Vista you need to think again. This fellow advertised a 1972 tin top camper and the price was $22,500. The buyers, a retired couple from Pennsylvania, were assured that it was in great condition so they flew out to San Diego, paid for the bus, and promptly broke down. I spoke to Manny on the phone (I was working on the bus as their mechanic) and he said that the engine had great compression and was in top shape. He lied. Now the owners have abandoned the bus at a local engine builders shop and continued their trip in a rental car. It will take two months before a new engine can be built.

A little about myself. I'm a retired airline mechanic with 40 years of air cooled VW experience. I have a regular job working on turbine engines and in my spare time I do work for people on their VW's, buses mostly. It's a passion of mine. Update:

Well, Manny fucked another customer who called me last week. He's taking Manny to small claims court. Hopefully the Judge will be the one doing the screwing now.
