Northside automotive. Not quite fredericksburg but close. There's also peek performance in maryland about 60 miles away.

The guys at Northside Automotive are great. They actually buy lots of parts from Savich and Savich has had them do several triple layer canvas cabriolet tops. They really do some nice restorations at that shop. Savich has a great shop to. If you are looking for fuel injection repair for your 77 beetle Savich has a decent inventory of new and used FI parts.

Then again neither of these shops are that close to you. Try searching the community section for a closer shop.

There's Monk's in Woodbridge. I've never dealt with them but a friend of a co-worker has been very pleased with them as they restore his Ghia.

Yes, great at not answering their phone. Great at not returning multiple calls. Great at not responding to e-mail inquiries for weeks on end. Great at lying to customers when they do finally respond to e-mail. Great at ripping off their customers. And great at taking your money.

Its great to stay away from Monks V.I. Volks.

Can't you get it '69 custom Monks V.I. Volks is a great place and you still have to much time on your hands. Let me guess you work in front of a computer and you're probably not allow on the internet. But since you're a busy body you just sit on the samba and talk about Monks V.I Volks since he mess up one time. Man that sucks for you.

Looks to me that you're doing precisely what you accuse me of. I can't say I've ever seen a Samba member actually follow another member around various threads for the sole purpose of attempting to discount their experience with a merchant before. Talk about too much time on your hands...

Tell you what, Chris, you go ahead and make recommendations based on your experiences, and I'll make recommendations based on my own. I'm very happy for you that your business with Monk turned out to your satisfaction, but one of the many benefits of this site is to provide our fellow VW enthusiasts with accurate information about all things involving our hobby. That means presenting both sides of the coin.

Have a nice evening.

If you call being on the samba for less then a week to much time on my hands then what would you call your time on the samba. Good Try. You must check every hour for something to run you mouth about. Writing me back is just proving me right. Monks is a great place to go and I'm going to make sure you are not telling a one sided story because you are right there are two sides to a coin. You make it sound like Monks V.I. Volks ruined your car or something but it turns out it was over a small part for your car. You will never be happy I guess. Turns out you have the part and your money back but still you run your mouth. GET A LIFE. http://monksvivolks.weebly.com/gallery.html

Truthfully, I can't say I was ever rude or discourteous to the man in any of my e-mails or voice messages I left for him. He just completely ignored me after he received my money. I could probably back that up with copies of e-mails, not that it matters anymore. Most of that I have documented in the Feedback Forum.

In any case, I'm happy for you that you've had better experience with him.

I have been going to Monks for years. He does great work at a reasonable price. Also give out free advice. I highly recommend.
