I just recently aquired some Shalako sales brochures and accessory option sheets. These are dated 1971,1972 as well as some press photos that were put out for prospects. If you like, contact me and I will send you some scans. These are very hard to find. Over the years, I have come across 4 of the kits but this is the only set of literature I've seen.
These were obtained through an Automotive Literature clearing house. They obtained it from an estate of a collector who reportedly had over a million pieces of automotive references. My understanding is that the collector was a writer for one of the major automotive magazines and he built this collection over a 40 year period.
I owned one of these kits in the 70's and drove it at Bug - In 15, October of 1975 in the slalom event. The slaloms were discontinued shortly after that due to safety concerns for the crowd. |

The panels are good. There is only some crazing where the nose was bumped. I also have good literature but no manual. It is a later body where the tub and side pods are one piece. |
