Need engine deck lid catch plate-bus depot has but 3-5 weeks/special order. Suggestions for someone with quicker delivery? Just easier to make one from L stock??
Need dash light sockets and bulbs (2) broke them. Where to buy-no luck in searches on several sites. Want original style
Thoughts on paint removal-everything from rattle can to brush on enamel in several colors. Used ice blasting for years in food industry but need expert advice on sand, ice, bead or chemical or just plain sanding. Gotta figure that cost into next phase.

I would just use L stock.
It makes it "yours" and adds personality.
Look on thesamba classified for the sockets and bulbs.
Oddly enough, I found bulbs of that type in the local Wal*Mart automotive
aisle. Just take the old ones to be sure you've got what you need.
Paint removal: somebody else take it away...Maybe ethyl acetate? |

buy a used one from Ken Madsen at TheBusco
If you are going to strip your bus you had best explain what level of stripping you want. Are you taking it to bare metal or trying to save the original paint that might or might not be underneath?
Buses have long panels. Improper media blasting will warp them. In addition that stuff goes everywhere you had best have the bus down to a shell when/if you do it. _________________ "Most people don't know what they're doing, and a lot of them are really good at it." - George Carlin |

Thanks. Tom I searched airhead this morning. Did not locate the light sockets. Hell I even have their catalog but was online.
Engine latch will be ordered or. I may just make one
The long term paint and strip is predicated on dollars. Wish is complete strip like motorworks , in Colorado, does. Actually going there soon to see new grandson.
Bus is a retirement project and maybe even a pipe dream but I have it running and everything working. Was dead in back alley of acquaintance for three years. Paint has been taken to bare metal in several places:( I sanded slightly and just put on a coat of primer to stop rust.
Brake rebuild next. Not much stopping power. Will start on that later this week.
Thanks for help to all.
