Seats are back in my 71 square but I am just looking for some pics of the seat runners if someone can help out that would be great!
On the runners that are on either side of the tunnel, I removed an extra metal extension piece about 3 inches long at the rear, it was fixed with 2x screws.
I cannot remember exactly how they were fitted its been so long.
But want to get it right
thanks _________________ SBS #20 UK

You can see that the guides on the tunnel are longer than the guides on the pans & have the 5 square tabs bracket for locking the seat in position.

Thanks Mike,
I have the OG runners in the car but there was an extra part fitted. Think it was a dealer extra so the seat goes back a bit further.
I will go get them and take a pic.

Looks like something to reproduce for long legged drivers! _________________ https://imgur.com/user/FisherSquareback/posts

About a year ago, there was someone in Germany who had what they claimed to be a NOS set of 'seat rail extensions'. They were crazy expensive (around 200€ for the set). I saved a photo somewhere...
It's not a bad idea but you'd also have to make a new seat slider part out of copper/brass to replace the plastic pieces. |

These ones were on my Cali import and gave the original driver an extra slot (couple inches more leg room).
I took them off as the seats were seized to the rails. I finally released them and cleaned the rails up. I just thought someone may have a pic of them installed to save me the time working out which way they went on.
Maybe I should get a few sets made up before I re-fit. If others were interested.
No extra extensions on the seat or outer rail were required for this.
I will try and get a look tomorrow. Busy fitting MY HULs seat/bed brackets this afternoon. _________________ SBS #20 UK

I bought a 66 Bug once that had the same kind of thing in it. The old owner was really tall. They were not home made but I don`t know where they cam from. _________________ If you`re going to do something, do it right. |
