|
|
I found this thing on Aussie eBay a few months ago and had to get it into my shed.
It's been adulterated a little over the years by PO's and it's got a mix of parts.
It's a 1956 Semiphore Aussie delivered model and by the looks of it, it's an aussie only colour of Manly Tan (looks almost red).
It didn't come with an engine, or the correct pan (I believe it's a 1965 pan). It's still link pin and disk brake. It's sadly got a later model dash in it and the high back seats will be thrown in favour of some period correct low backs.
It's got later model rear guards on it with later model tail lights and front indicators added.
The plan is for a pan off resto with the interior and engine brought back to new. The body will be staying as patina'd as I can - some rust repairs will need to be done. The Moss is staying for sure
From what i can gather, it's original colour was Manly Tan, it's then get a British green, a poo green (70's VW colour) and then the brushed on blue/white that's prominent.

I love it - That's gotta become a sticker for the window for sure.
I want to try and keep all the panels as they are, even keeping the later model rear guards as although they aren't period correct, I could never replicate that mossy/cracked paint finish again.
It's going to pain me to have to patch rust panels on the body and have 'clean sections' afterwards. |

I have a 56 pan if you want to restore one to original spec, located in Brisbane. |

Tell me more! I'm very interested in spare parts at least. Do you have it rolling or bare?
Where are you in Brissy? I'm north side near Strathpine. |

It's a rolling chassis, with wheels, original split case gearbox and a steering box.
It needs both pan halves replacing - I have two new ones available but not Oval correct halves.
I am in Greenbank 4124 on Brisbane Southside.
I have only just removed the body from it. September 1956.
