But I don't.
I hear that a baywindow rear bumpers are different for truck and bus applications.
Does anyone have any hard facts supporting this rumor?
Like pictures or part numbers or something? _________________ This thread SUCKS!!! |

Hi Earthmuffin,
The LAST truck only rear bumper was in the 1959 model year.

On a related note, has anyone put an early bay front bumper on a later bay, and if so what modifications were needed to fit over the inner bumper, and affix the ends under the doors?

Oooh, thats the answer that I wanted. My ETKA program doesn't even list a part number for an early bay bumper, let alone differentiate between truck and bus. Thanks. _________________ This thread SUCKS!!! |

59-60 had truck only bumpers. The body changed in mid 60 and from that point on there is no difference between truck and bus bumpers.
here's a link to the info. http://www.dropgates.com/ |

This is a really old thread, so PM me if you want some photos and I'll see what I can do.
My 1975 Type 2 Single Cab came with factory fog lights (front and rear), and it has appropriate holes in the nose and the top of the front bumper, and in the left side of the engine compartment (floor of the "battery tray" area on the left) and in the bottom of the rear bumper.
I believe the original question was answered, but I have two data points: the aforementioned '75 SC, and a 1978 Double Cab. Both have standard Type 2 bumpers front and rear, with the exception for the fog lights. The rear end of the '78 DC has a factory hitch installed, but the bumper is the same.
Edit: Actually, there is one additional small difference that I do not understand: On the '75 SC, there are two additional holes at the bottom of the rear bumper, in a flat spot near the center. I have no idea what these are for, but they look to be original.
Edit: If I do photos of hole locations, I'll post them in the Bumper ID thread that Tcash has going (link in his post below). I forgot that I already had some photos in there! _________________ John
