This is a '51 standard found on Hemmings I was trying to buy in early 90's. The seller had sent these pictures and I told him I wanted it if he could send me some pictures of the underside to verify that it didn't have too much rust. The pictures never came and I got a voice mail a few weeks later that someone with cash had come by to look at it and he sold it to him. The seller ran a VW repair shop I believe the seller was in Chicago. It had a lot of deluxe parts on it and had side trim added and some other later parts but overall it was pretty complete. I believe it had the decklid. He had at least one of the correct bumpers for it. He had gone through the engine and it ran and drove. Does anyone recognize this split?
