I bought these line clamps
In 3/8" and 1/2".
I bought a nylon spacer in 3/8"
and 1/2" and drilled them out to 1/4".

Before slipping the fuel line over the trimmer line, I slipped the nylon spacers over the line.
Here they are installed front (1/2")
and rear (3/8")
I then clamped the fuel line in front, under the E-brake, to the clutch cable tube (1/2")

The clutch cable tube and e-brake cable tube are metric, so I shimmed those sides of the clamps with some metallic tape I had leftover from my home dryer ducting.
I installed the last clamp near the rear torsion tube.
I still have to weld up the hole-saw holes, but I don't have the welder yet.
I won't drive it until I get it welded up.
If I had the original type of middle and rear clamps, this job would have been much easier.
Still, I'm glad it's done. _________________ My Build: '69 Baja - Dark Earth Version

I'm probably stealing all of this. Since no one has commented to the negative I assume this is a Samba approved approach.
Was your body off for this? I've read that makes this much easier.
I really liked the claps with nylon bushings. Do you have links to what/where you got those?
Edit, clamps are in the package... I should be able to find those. Sorry. |

The nylon bushings come from Home Depot and the roll of steel line came from NAPA. The body was on when I did it. _________________ My Build: '69 Baja - Dark Earth Version

My 1973 Beetle has that "extra metal".
As does my 1969 chassis that I am using for my Deserter Dune Buggy.

Thanks for the pictures !! It looks more like a factory update since they all look so similar. _________________ My Build: '69 Baja - Dark Earth Version
