1965 bug front floor heater slides

So, I am looking for help on how the slides stay in place. Keep looking at the pieces and I think there are parts missing. What was used at the top to hold the slides in? And where can I find the pieces?

There's a channel at the top where the door slides in and a clip attaches at the bottom to hold the door in place.

Guess I am making some. It didn't have the top channel. All good. Pretty good with metal. Thanks!

Were the heater channels replaced on your Bug? Could be why it's missing.

Doesn't look like it. But it is a 65 out of so cal.
