Any recommendations for Westy cover? Just bought 1985 w/ surf racks (easy enough to take off) that I will be storing for most of year.
Also any tips on how best to store for couple months at a time.

I live in Kaneohe and have a Vanagon in SoCal in storage many months at a time. My Vanagon here goes into storage then. Add fuel stabilizer, MMO and have the tank full. Disconnect the battery ground cable. Have the tires fully inflated. Peppermint oil on cotton balls in a glass jar with holes punched in the lid will keep the rodents out. Keep it off the grass, out of the rain, and out of the sun. A good car cover with it parked on concrete would accomplish this if you don't have covered parking.

We have used this system for 3 years now and couldn't be happier.
http://www.carbag.com/products/carjacket
Only suitable for indoor storage.
Cover van with car cover of any brand.
Open desiccant and place inside.
Zip van into Carbag and goodbye.
Rotors still shiny after 7 months in storage, no rodents etc. Magic! _________________ 88 Westy, '07 EJ25 Vanaru.
Either van-less on Waiheke Island in New Zealand where we spend the Southern summer, or Wolfram is in Seattle/Olympia in storage. |

But, a cover might trap rainwater and be worse for the vehicle than uncovered. A covered vehicle parked on grass is the worst scenario for storage.

Is it possible that we now have two rubber chickens?
First the original - rubbachicken.
And now rbrchkn. Perhaps 'extra crispy'? |
