I took the doka to the local tire shop to have the snow tires removed. After I got it back I can't shift into 1st. Reverse, 2nd, 3rd & 4th are fine. I'm assuming someone tried to animal it into a gear and caused something to get out of adjustment.
Once out of about 20 tries it goes in, it doesn't grind.
What should I check/adjust? |

I have no experience as to how well the shift linkage mechanism withstand abuse. From what you described of the event, I suggest you crawl under the van and careful inspect for any trace of something had struck or unintentionally came in contact with the shifting linkage.
It is possible that a misplaced jack or jack stand bend the linkage somewhere. I have always watch these grease monkeys like a hawk when they prepare to raise the vehicle, and every single time I have to intervene to tell them the only places I want them to jack. I had one of my Koni shock bolt sabotaged once because the grease monkey didn't like being corrected what to do. I was distracted by someone recognize me by the photos of my blog and we were busy talking. That will never happen again. _________________ - Vince 飲食玩睡
