| HI All. Looking at my bus I feel like I am missing something under the front seats... I have a single driver with a small bench for passenger. ( I know there is a name for this setup), but I went and pulled the passenger seat and found a huge hole... looks like maybe some type of storage? it looks like I am missing the cover for that? is there a name for it? does anyone have any pictures that they can show me how all of the seats and up front look like? my bus is a COMPLETE basket case right now and any help would be great... I feel like I might be missing something here... thanks! |

Are you talking about the holes shown below? I wrap my spare parts in rags so they don't rattle and toss 'em down there. Some say you can put your weed in there.

I was thinking of huge as in where the spare tire is located. My single cab has the 2/3 bench seat and when removed i noticed a 2'x4' sized compartment in the middle. Looking at the manuals people have uploaded it turns out its the spare tire compartment.
I could be wrong. |

Yes, it is a storage place for the spare, and it exists on all Type 2b non-walk-throughs, including pickups, AFAIK.
You also asked about a cover for that area. There was a cover, made of the same black rubbery material that covers the seat stands, but these are generally long gone. And no one is making replacements, either. I wish we could get Wolfsburg West to do it -- they do make decent repop seat stand covers. _________________ John
