|
|
Are the struts in a Eurovan Winnebago camper's kitchen cover (the big one that covers the sink and the burners) supposed to be strong enough to keep the cover in the upright position on their own?
Ours won't stay up, and we have had to keep the heat shield locked in place as a workaround. I'm guessing this isn't how things are supposed to be, and I need to pick up two new struts, but want to confirm before ordering up a new pair. |

Yeah they should stay up - you can order 'em from Pop Top Heaven. or just take off the cover. |

Thanks. Any reason not to order them (same part number) from Eurocamper? $11.95 vs. $23.95 per strut... |

We're about to go camping and I took our cover completely off and covered the sink with a Velcro-secured cutting board. I think we r gonna like this solution. |

I took the cover off three years ago and never looked back. So much easier for everything. |

Just camped without it last week. Love having the cover off. Just put a cutting board over the sink when you need more platform space. |

To close out the thread, the replacement struts from Eurocamper fit perfectly. The GoWesty youtube video on replacement is very helpful for removing the old struts, but not so helpful on explaining how to install the new ones.
A small-medium flat head screwdriver is necessary for the removal and installation, although needle nose pliers work in a pinch. |
