Louvers go waaaaay back in hot rodding days. Initially the purpose would be to facilitate cooling, such as a hood or hood sides one a front engine hot rod (i.e. 32 ford) Then the craze caught on an folks were louvering all kinds of panels. So in most cases its simply a cosmetic mod. _________________ D-Dubya Manx clone 1914. Ex wifes car.

| not my thing on a (vw) hood, but I do like louvers from a hot rodding/look and cooling standpoint. There are plenty of cars that did it from the factory as well. |
