If you have seen one, you have seen them all... (known existing examples that is)
Your bus is VERY rare.

082 Cargo floor mountings for short middle seat? Seen on '63 walk-through model 251 Deluxes and 281 Standards
It is a mistake but some later European did have that Mcode for disc brake |

I didn't say split buses. I was told it was used for European buses but might have misses understood |

Strange special order. Optioning a Kombi until it becomes a standard sunroof without a cloth headliner. Maybe that was the point, no headliner to get torn.
Or did it just leave the factory in that configuration? I once owned a 1979 Ford F150 that had Custom trim down one side and Ranger trim down the other. I bought it from the original owner who said it came like that from the factory. I also knew a guy with a 1/2 ton Chevy that turned out to have been optioned to 3/4 ton but kept the 1/2 ton badging. He was the first owner and bought it off the lot like that. |

It is a Kombi not a standard. Someone must have order it this way. IMO |

I saw a 66 years ago, two tone and a headliner (essentially a standard with a 23 VIN), I was super doubtful but the M plate was legit. Sadly the guy he sold it to butchered it up and it's gone now so no way to see the plate again. _________________ Rust NEVER sleeps and stock never goes out of style.

I don’t think so. That bus was original paint from the belt line up though.
I think there is a photo of a two tone Kombi in the German text bus book with the white cover. It’s a side view in a photo studio and it has the cargo doors open showing the grey panels with the wood. |

Maybe this is a dealer order, rather than a customer order vehicle?
Dealers often option vehicles with weird combinations of options to use as demonstrators. And back in the day I remember seeing base model Fords etc. with one or two high-spec options and lots of dealer badging that were sold as promotional models to raise the dealer's profile. _________________ Andy

A factory two tone kombi is rare.
