I have been looking for Kms trip speedo for my late 63 bus for years now, all of them seem to be Mph.
yesterday while going through original parts catalogs I discovered that there is no trace of Kms trip speedo, they only speak about Mph ones.
Has anybody ever seen a genuine Kms trip speedo for bus?
thanks! |

That is most likely a fake. The tenths dial is white and not silver as the originals are. _________________ It all works on paper.

Is the silver font colour on the dial specific to this speedo?
Because I have 120kmh and 100kmh speedos that have white font.
And another 120kmh that has silver font. |

Both Speedos have the last digit with a silver colour and some more differences compared
to normal speedos.
No pressed parts Number, two pressings on the left and right side of the bakelite bulb holder. |

I have only Seen two or three of These in Germany ,i bought the older one 20 years ago from a speedo collector and the other one from a friend.
These are used but in good condition,so no Fake here.
I had 10 to 15 bug Trip speedos from 50 to 67,all real but a Lot easier to find than bus Trip
speedos.
Maybe the bus ones where only built to special order?

Ask buggen. It was his pic that i posted 6 years ago. At that time the pic was 6 years old, and he had sold it the year before.

| Funny, When i was looking all i could find were KM ones. I finally located a MPH unit and got totally lucky in that it was even dated in the right range for my bus. Not cheap but they are out there. |

The first 2 picture, the speedo on the right has a part number on the top.
I can't tell on the left.
The bottom 2 pictures, which are different speedos also have part numbers stamped in.
If you can list down it'd be great. Thanks. |

I see what you mean, got me confused.
the 0-900m dial is what you mean I believe.
I was looking at the markings on the dialface itself. |

Hello lightice, Trip speedos are in all pics on the left and for comparison normal speedos on the right.
No parts number on Trip speedos!

I believe the trip speedo for kmh had an ink stamp part number.
I have seen a beetle kmh with no part number stamped anywhere as well.
I think maybe they were used for some other application and could be cross referenced to vw for replacement speedos.
My friend has an odd 160kmh beetle speedo, without the speed limit marker. |
