I'm looking for an automatic transmission to bolt up to a 1972 air cooled engine, 1800cc.
I also need a transaxle, I heard the bus transaxles have more width than the beetle transaxle, Wider is better for my application.
I know nothing about them or what is involved.

I'm a newbie
Thanks
Bryan

Your 1972 1800 cc engine is from which vehicle ? Bug or Bus or? ....
Is this going in some type of buggy?

003 Automatic trans & final drive from a type 2,3 & 4
010 " "from late type 2& Vanagon.

The engine is from a beetle.
The project is a skate car.

Cool Video..... Smile

It may be difficult to find a type 3 automatic trans & final drive these days.
1968-1973 yr models. this is called a 003 transmission.

The 010 auto trans is later and would require a modified 'flex plate' to bolt
to your type 1 engine.

What are they using in the "skate video" it may be worth contacting them
Good luck with your project.
