Is that a stock bed up there? I've never seen a pre 74 with a bed that big? Otherwise, nice video. I'm sure it will help someone tackle that task. And bravo for doing it outside, in the snow! _________________ 1978 Delux Campmobile

The bed is an euro camper top bed. This bed was an option on early bays in europe. This bed was from a 73 euro camper and the bed was gifted to me for my bus.. _________________

I just learned something new because of your video. That's a success in my opinion. _________________ 1978 Delux Campmobile

It looks like some of your OG alloy channels are missing/replaced with something else, the original ones are multiple pieces with curves at the corners with tiny phillips screws, You pretty much need a set of watch makers screwdrivers to get them out..
Toss that old brittle tack strip and get a new roll that you can order with your canvas ( I suggest Busdepot, best bang for the buck) You're going to want warm environment for installing this..
Buy or rent a pneumatic stapler, you wont regret it, especially around the front of the bus where quarters are tight..
When you go to reinstall, fit the top canvas inside then use a couple of 7' long 2x4s from top to floor so you can work around the bus and have the top elevated..
Follow instructions, fit the top of the canvas first then stretch around the bottom with the alloy channels with new stainless screws..the corners are a bitch..when your satisfied, reinstall rear hinge brackets and raise it up..
make final adjustments and don"t force it..
With some water on the taught parts on a warm day it will stretch a little
Good luck _________________ '68 Campmobile-Pedro

4 more easy bolts and you can take the top off. I highly recommend it. Makes it much easier to put the new canvas on. _________________ 71 Westy 1600 DP, all stock Bus 1

| And the hole in your roof is a lot bigger than a factory hole of an early Bay. Presumably to fit that bed in there. |
