Also ...
Have heard good things about Fluid Film but only if applied by owner as some shops miss areas. Heck - not their car.

Nasty, dirty job too.

Glad yo enjoy the drive & are taking care of the ride.

Food for thought ... stay safe

The car worked so well in the snow and cold though -- really wish I could use it as a winter car! Would be a pretty big effort to thoroughly "corrosion proof" it to point where I'd be comfortable driving it in the salt all the time, though - *sigh*

Perhaps you could acquire a "winter Bug" ... something to bomb around in during the winter months. Wouldn't need to be pretty, just structurally and mechanically sound. An excuse to built a Class 11 if that appeals to you. Cool

Yeah, that's something I've thought about in the past -- and I am a fan of Class 11 bajas as well! One of my old college buddies has on he runs in Colorado, which I really like:

That said, unfortunately the need & desire for lifted off-road rigs is fairly minimal here in KS (i.e. the only state where you can watch your dog run away for two days... Smile).

Still something to consider for the future, though, whenever I get some more spare time, room, and $$$...

I drove my 1971 Convertible yesterday, went nowhere special. I'm in Arizona, weather was great, so I drive it routinely.

I think I'll stop posting in this thread unless I go somewhere noteworthy....

Drove the '76 a bit this afternoon to stretch its legs. It bogged down and shut off about a 1/3 of the way through the drive....figured it was some bad gas. It ran fine the rest of the drive, the four large tip Rally exhaust sounds great!

74 Superbeetle L mum's owned since new and promised to me when I was about 5.

Parents were sick of being cut off back in the 70's. After the roo bar people took the VW more seriously, it worked!

Drove to a dog-friendly Argentinian restaurant in Edinburgh called Gaucho for my mum’s birthday. Good weather but parked in a nondescript multi-storey.

I love empanadas but didn’t spot them on the menu (they are there though as I saw after). I did however indeed have Churrasco de lomo with “Firecracker chimichurri”!

My wife and I took off on a cruise after fixing a fuel leak. We got it all wound up to 65 mph and 35 miles of mixed city highway driving. We stopped to get a quick pic and I felt just like a stranger in a strange land. Zoom in.

Great song, wonder if he ever imagined his lyrics would ring even more true 50 years later. Oh nice car too!
