Front Head Inspection Cover Missing on '71 SB

Is the front head inspection cover the same on all '68+ Type 1's? The one on my '71 Super Beetle Vert is missing. Would like to install one to avoid dirt and water from going into the front head area but can't seem to find out if it is different from standard Beetles or other years.

Hi,
on Super Beetles, there normally is a deformation (crash) element instead of this plate, install that instead of the plate:

I see this is a separate piece, missing from my front end. If I can't find it can I use a standard beetle cover plate?
