Maybe a stupid rear window seal question

I have a extra rear seal for my 63 beetle laying around. I need a seal for a rear window for late 70s beetle soon. Will the 63 seal work?

no, the rear window was made bigger for the 1965 and 1972 model years.

That's what I thought. I don't have the window for the late 70s beetle yet to check.

It is interesting to note the late model seal fits like the 50's front windshield.
