1/8 walnut wood paneling
I need some advice for the cabinet builds. My goal is to build something like what you’d find in Westys. I have at least 3 things to consider
1 Weight
2 longevity
3 strength
I need some advice as to what would be good for the framing. I’m thinking maybe 1 x 2s or cut strips of 3/4” plywood to 3/4 x 1”.
I’m going to nail and white glue it all together using screws as necessary.
Any suggestions here will be greatly appreciated and I’m a big fan of the kiss scenario

I too am considering building a cabinet to replace the stove/frig/sink combo cabinet that I removed.

I am no cabinet maker but would do some research.

I would use a good quality plywood, birch? The factory cabinets are 3/8" with a basket weave laminate on both sides. It would be ideal if you could buy the basket weave layer and bond it to the plywood with contact adhesive, but I am sure this is not available.

You can buy 3/8" prelaminated sheets of birch plywood in many colors. These are skinned with a fiberglass skin, so if prepped properly the smooth or textured white could be painted to match your other cabinets. I know Home Depot did a really good job color matching my cabinets in a latex paint and depending on how the fiberglass needs to be prepped for painting could have them mix up an enamel paint of go to an automotive store and have them color match. I have a body shop supply store near me that can custom match colors by taking a picture/scan of whatever you bring them, and they can then put it in an aerosol can for us nonprofessionals.

Floors in
Another step accomplished on the Vanagon conversion.

It is extra flooring left over from when I re-floored my two bathrooms so it’s waterproof. Had 2 feet left over “that was close!”

I’d like to thank Bruce Springsteen, Rolling Stones, Van Halen and Mark Knofler for their musical support while doing the job,
