|

Went to Jiffy Lube today and they filled the reservoir as usual but said fluid was leaking, you may have a cracked reservoir.
Dropped the reservoir, 3x 10mm bolts, and the filler tube popped out in the floor where it normally resides.
The seal between the filler tube and the reservoir was dodgy, hence leak, so no cracked reservoir, phew.
Now, getting the tube back in place is like putting a baby back. Can't see how to get the tube to go back (from the top) so it meets with the reservoir.
Tips, please? _________________ 88 Westy, '07 EJ25 Vanaru.

I can't recall the exact choreography, but you just have to rotate it around and finagle it in there. _________________ 1984 Westfailure/2.1 Digijet/5.43 Ring & Pinion/Peloquin/D-rated BFG KO2s

I wouldn't worry about the leak, they made it so it leaks out under the van where the filler neck meets the tank. Better there than overflowing under your carpet.
Put the tube in the hole and line the bucket up with as you put the bucket back in place. |

I just worked on this item a week ago.
If I understand you correctly, you removed the fill tube, and now you're trying to put it back in. I too did this, and had to really "finagle" it , as E1 puts it.
Trust me, it WILL go in.
While you're at it, replace the big grommet that seals the tube to the opening in the top of the reservoir.
