I had to split my case to replace the Crank and made myself a Case splitter from an old oil pump. Parts cost me less than $1.00

If it works and doesn't hurt anything, seems good to me.
I'm sure all manner of home-brewed leverage devices have been created over the years. Me, I long ago got pretty good at delivering well-placed smacks with a dead-blow rubber mallet to get case halves apart. _________________ Andy T.

Well done. The simplest (and cheapest) home made solutions are usually the best, and you get free shipping, good customer service and full instructions on their use ! _________________ 1968 1500 RHD Lotus White Beetle since birth. In the hospital for major surgery

| 40+ years never needed one but have seen more than one case damaged when excessive force was applied and they forgot the two hidden nuts behind and below cylinder #1. Have seen them used to advantage on cases that were shuffle pinned. |
