I've used Kaspersky without problems for 3 years now, but my buddy got a computer at Best Buy 2 years ago and had them install Kaspersky for a 3 year plan. He kept getting viruses. He took it to a friend who removed the Kaspersky and installed a different antivirus. My buddy finds out that Kaspersky is a Russian company and they were spying on everything he was searching. He said Best Buy has since removed Kaspersky from their sales and has offered a free replacement. |

Old news.
A year ago all the heads of the intelligence agencies said they would not use Kaspersky.
BTW, Google and Facebook spy on you. _________________ Glenn

I knew that about Google and FB. I just find it interesting that sites keep advertising Kaspersky and that Best Buy pulled Kaspersky. |

Because they are getting paid.
Facebook didn't care about the fake posts and ads because they got paid.

The British government has issued a fresh warning about the security risks of using Russian anti-virus software.
The National Cyber Security Centre is to write to all government departments warning against using the products for systems related to national security.
The UK cyber-security agency will say the software could be exploited by the Russian government.
Security firm Kaspersky Labs, accused in the US of being used by the Russian state for espionage, denied wrongdoing.
Kaspersky Labs is widely used by consumers and businesses across the globe, although they are not being advised to stop using the software, as well as by some parts of the UK government.
Barclays axes deal
Officials stress they are not recommending members of the public or companies stop using Kaspersky products, which are used by about 400 million people globally.
Barclays has stopped offering free Kaspersky software to customers as a "precautionary decision".
On Saturday, the UK bank emailed 290,000 online banking customers who had downloaded Kaspersky over the past decade - but advised those with the software already installed to take no action. |

Pfft.. I've been using Kaspersky for years with no issues. If they want to see that I'm looking at old cars, sign materials and Youtube vids, they're welcome to it... |

I do, but they won't find much. Really, what, other than the possibility of a hacked credit card or identity theft, could happen? I watch all my accounts pretty closely for any weird activity. If the Russians want to see when my last colonoscopy was, I'll gladly send them the photos...
I had McAfee... found it to be nothing more than bloatware that seriously slowed my machine.. |
