My van's subaru 2.5 was done by Rocky Mountain Westy in 2009 and has their shortened/widened oil pan that I believe is 5 quarts. It looks like the one they still sell in general. The problem is the van has the stock dipstick, so when I put 5 quarts in, it reads high on the dipstick (about a quart over).
Should I ignore that high reading and use that as the new "full" mark? Or should I still be using the stock dipstick lines?
Thanks! _________________ 1997 Miata

Hey kirkvw72,
Trevor here from RMW/Van Cafe. We have a retrofit kit for your original style oil pan that allows you to use our modified Subaru dipstick. It will read full at the five quarts filled capacity.

As always, you can reach out to us directly with any and all questions.
Have a great one and we'll see ya out there! |
